Blooming in summer

Asagaos, Morning Grolies in English, are blooming beautifully now. Three different color flowers are blooming this morning.

I love Asagaos because they are easy to grow, and very Japanese! Here in Tokyo, it's really hot and humid, but I've been looking forward to see the flowers in summer every year. There are a wide variety of Asagao seeds. The flowers I'm growing are called Yo-haku. Yo means five radial lines on the flowers and Haku means white in Japanese.

朝顔が咲きました。育て方が簡単な上、日本の夏らしいのでここ５年くらい朝顔を育てています。時々違う種を使うのですが、今年は「陽白」という頂きものの種を育てました。「陽」とは花の放射状の５本の線のことで、そこが白いので陽白だそうです。

Blue daisy flowers are blooming beautifully now.

朝顔の芽が出ました。ブルーデイジーもきれいです。

Ohanami (enjoying the beauty of flowers)

My family and I went Ohanami. Ohanami is a Japanese custom to enjoy seeing cherry blossoms, eating or drinking. We bought some packs of Sushi (they were great!) and ate them under the flowers.

The cherry blossom is not in full bloom yet, but we really enjoy flowers.

This is another day at Megurogawa river in Tokyo.  You can enjoy cherry blossoms everywhere around Tokyo in this time of the year.

おはなみに行きました。先週末は3分咲きくらいでしたが、十分楽しみました。水曜の時点ではかなり咲いていたので、今週末は満開ではないでしょうか。しかし、本当に今の時期の話題は桜だらけですね。桜前線、満開予想日、なんて面白い言葉ですよね。

New project and the park

I begun to knit mittens with Norwegian pattern. It will take long time.I feel stiff in the my neck...

The maple leaves at Hanegi park turn yellow. Winter is coming.

They turn deep red colors. When I see red maple leaves, I sing a traditional song "Red leaves, red leaves..." in my head.

rainy season

 

The rainy season has begun. This year the rainy season seems to set in earlier than usual. The plants look healthier during the rainy season.

The flowers of Ajisai are in full bloom. You can find the purple flowers here and there. I don't like the rainy season very much but I'm happy to see the flowers.

We are on vacation with my family and we went to the Tokyo Midtown. The new shopping mall were packed with holidaymakers. I was tired so I got out of the mall and found many white daisy flowers at the garden of the mall.

Azalea flowers are in full bloom at Wadabori waterworks near my house. The day was public open day of the waterworks.

Plum trees are in full bloom!

My husband and I went to the Hanegi park and found plum trees in full bloom. The park was crowded with many people seeing plum trees. Spring has come here! It's a good time to begin something on spring.

I took a walk around my neighborhood and found the flowers of plum tree!
We had much snow the day before yesterday but spring is coming for sure.

These days I often find a lot of flowers of sasanqua . I think they are very Japanese. I like them. When I find sasanqua, the song of sasanqua replays in my head.
