My husband ordered it to me because he and his coworker needed it at their workplace. He said the architects' scale was too long, so they couldn't carry it as a traveler's luggage without the cover. He planned the pattern of it and I sewed it.
The shoulder strap can be adjusted longer or shorter. So they can carry the scale easily with the strap on their shoulder.
The
gecko lizard is a kind of a hook. My husband got it at somewhere.
The cover is 1.15 meter long.
注文製作品です。土木用スケールがそのままだと飛行機搭乗時に手荷物として持ち込めないとのことで、カバーを作りました。長さは1.15メーター、持ち運びに便利なように肩にかけるひもも付けました。
所属名を刺繍してタグにして、地味にオリジナリティを出しています。ヤモリは夫がどこからか入手したフックです。
I added extra pattern at the part of the waist. The original pattern was a bit tight for me and I thought I should have make bigger also other parts. I'll try it next time!
ウエスト部分を足して、マタニティ用カットソーを作りました。元のパターンが小さかったらしく、出来上がったものはウエスト含め全体的に小さかったです。。残念。。次回はもう少し大きめに作ろう。
Katarina sent me the poppana work, a Finnish style of weaving. Her mother made it for me. I love the color and the texture of it. I didn't know much about Finnish crafts, but I thought it's like Sakiori, worn-out clothes in Japan.
And I sent her the Sashiko work. Doing Sashiko is a way to relax for me.

The skirt pattern is a bit tight, but thanks to the stretch part above the body of the skirt, my stomach feel comfortable.
The t-shirt turned to a part of my skirt and kid's pants. My husband got it at a discount shop in Hokkaido on his business trip because it was quite cold there.
網走(Abashiri) is a place-name in Hokkaido, 番外地(Bangaichi) means there is no address there. This definition can be turned around to mean Abashiri prison. I'm not sure how, Abashiri Bangaichi goods are very famous as gread-B souvenior of Hokkaido among Japanese.
The sleeves turned to a kid's pants. I found his one T-shirt can turn to two baby wares.
赤ちゃんができました。冬に生まれる予定です。そろそろ普通の服がきつくなってきたので、マタニティスカートをつくってみました。Mパターン研究所のパターン（廃盤）を使い、ウェスト部分には伸びる別素材を使いました。
別素材とは、夫が北海道出張であまりに寒く、激安ショップで200円で買ったという「網走番外地」Tシャツです。適度に伸び、ホールド感がよいです。スカートを作った後Tシャツの袖部分が余ったので、そのまま上部だけ縫い、子供スパッツにしてみました。

I also love feedsacks and I used to get them at Cottonfield, Kichijoji, Tokyo. But when I went there at the beginning of this year, the clerk said they didn't offer feedsacks anymore. I miss the feedsacks at Cottonfield...

自分用鍋つかみが古くなってきたので新しいものをこしらえました。上の写真の左が手ぬぐい、右がアメリカのヴィンテージフィードサックを使っています。手ぬぐいは、浅草の「ふじ屋」と、「かまわぬ」のものが好きです。フィードサックは、吉祥寺コットンフィールドでよく買っていましたが、最近取り扱い終了したようで悲しいです。。
I'm preparing to send the Sashiko work to Katarina. She gave me her mother's great woven work. I'll introduce the work here in time. And it's my turn, I'm trying to do Sashiko work. I'm really happy to exchange our works. I had heard of craft exchange but I never really thought that I would do it.
The Sashiko work takes time but it's not difficult. I do it at café, the kitchen, the office at lunchtime....everywhere.

How do I say this in English? Kitchen mitten? Kettle holder? I made it from vintage feedsack that I bought at "Cottonfield" in Kichijoji.
